Mya’s Rescue
A plan beyond pickup day
A lot of the dogs waiting in shelters came from a litter where everyone meant well. The puppies went home, and nobody decided what would happen if one ever needed to come back. A move, a new baby, a landlord, or a dog who grew bigger than anyone expected. Without a plan, the answer is usually a shelter.
If you know someone whose dog is having puppies, send them this. It’s a free two-page plan they can fill in before the litter arrives.
On iPhone: open the plan, tap Share, then Save to Files. Open it from the Files app and tap a box to type. On Android, open it in a PDF app such as Google Drive.
What’s in the plan
- 1
Who takes the dog back
One named person each puppy can come home to, at any age, plus how to ask for help.
- 2
A confirmed backup
Someone who has said yes, for when the first person can’t.
- 3
Care, space and costs
Food, vet care, boarding and transport: who pays, and for how long.
- 4
If a new home is needed
Who finds it, how they check it, and how health and behavior get shared honestly.
- 5
Share it, then review it
Everyone named gets a copy. Look at it again at placement and once a year.
Type into the boxes on screen, save a copy, or print it and fill it in by hand. One plan per puppy.
Mya’s network is about adoption: adopt, don’t shop. This plan exists so that when a litter does happen, none of those puppies ends up in a shelter. It is a practical planning worksheet, not a contract or legal advice.
